			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Nikolas Badminton</strong> is the Director of Digital Strategy of <strong><em>DDB Canada</em></strong>. He leads the planning and strategy team responsible for creating the digital and social strategies for Tribal DDB Vancouver clients, including the <em>Canadian Tourism Commission, BC Hydro and the University of British Columbia</em>.</p>
<p>With 15-years of traditional and digital marketing experience in consumer and business-to-business markets, Badminton has delivered award-winning client programs across a range of categories including, travel, consumer packaged goods, finance, telecommunications, entertainment and technology. </p>
<p>Badminton worked independently for the past year with the United Nations and various non-profit organizations to build connected online communities. Prior to that he was the strategy director at <em>Blast Radius</em>, where he worked with <em>Microsoft, AT&#038;T, Electronic Arts and Kiwi Collection</em> in building world-class digital engagement platforms.</p>
<p>Badminton is a graduate of Bournemouth University and has a degree in Applied Psychology and Computing, where he studied the early rise of the Internet, computer supported communications (the forerunner to modern social networks), and artificial intelligence in relation to natural language systems.</p>
<p>As a recognized industry leader, he has participated as a judge, taught social media at UBC, contribute regularly to publications. He provides thought leadership on mobile marketing, social media outreach, behavior targeted direct marketing, and the intersection of traditional and digital marketing to trade media via frequent conference presentations(<em>SXSW, ICSC, Marketing Magazine, Deloitte, BCAMA</em>).</p>

<p>From his first job working at a cinema on a Canadian base in Germany, J has spent two decades working in media. During his undergraduate at Queen’s he founded a recording group that toured with acts such as The Tragically Hip, Wilco, and Primus. After graduation he directed award-winning shorts, worked as a stage manager at the “Just for Laughs” festival and at every level of production on films, television and commercials in Toronto. </p>
<p>Relocating to Vancouver he founded OverInteractive Media receiving private investment from Bootup Labs and local angels to develop dimeRocker, a cloud-based platform designed to accelerate the creation of branded social games, gamification and social TV strategies. </p>
<p>dimeRocker was a finalist for <em>“Best New Media Technology’</em> at the <em>2010 CNMA Awards</em>, and J. was identified by Techvibes as “Digital Media People to Watch in 2011″. His clients include <em>Disney, Weinsteins</em> and the <em>CBC</em>. Recent speaking panels he has participated in include: 2011 <em>Banff World Media Festival</em>, 2011 <em>Vancouver International Film Festival</em>, 2011 <em>Merging + Media</em> and 2011 <em>nextMedia Conference</em> in Toronto.</p>

<p>Prior to Apple Canada, Alan acted as Senior Account Manager for Hewlett-Packard&#8217;s Imaging and Printing Division where he strengthened client relationships across Western Canada.</p>
<p>Atimi Software is a Vancouver software company that develops mobile application software and provides consulting services.<br />
Founded in 2001, Atimi began as a cross-platform desktop application porting and development company. Although Atimi developed and ported for the Macintosh, Microsoft and Linux operating systems, their area of focus has always been the Macintosh operating system.</p>
<p>Atimi first began development of smart phone applications in 2008, when they developed three apps for the launch of the App Store; the New York Times Reader, advertorial for Time Warner’s ‘The Dark Knight’, and the mobile version of Etch A Sketch. Roughly 90% of Atimi&#8217;s business is mobile application development. Atimi&#8217;s client list includes; HBO, Best Buy, Postmedia Networks, Macworld, and the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames.</p>
